Our Mission
At The American Legion Arcata Post 274 we are dedicated to building a strong community within Humboldt County that assists Veterans in reintegrating, and reestablishing themselves into the civilian world.
Our intent is to enrich the community and surrounding environment through positive actions by creating connections between Veterans and our neighbors. Through outreach, education, and mentoring, we wish to honor Veterans and the community by expressing American values as defined by our beautiful and diverse country!
And shall not the brave,
who have contributed so essentially to these inestimable acquisitions,
retiring victorious from the field of war to the field of agriculture,
participate in all the blessings which have been obtained?

Community Events
We host events that are open to all members of the community. This includes free holiday events for families to gather together. All paid events benefit our non-profit mission.
We offer our space to the community for events. Learn more about renting our beautiful historical building for your next party, memorial, or work celebration.
We are a site for Californians for All College Corps program in partnership with Cal Poly Humboldt and College of the Redwoods. College Corps helps students graduate on time debt-free.
